Asia Khmelova is a Ukrainian filmmaker based in the US, alumna of NYU Tisch School of the Arts grad film program, where she was a TSOA Masters Film Future Fund Scholarship Fellow and Maurice Kanbar Scholar. Her films have been featured at international film festivals, and her screenplays received multiple prestigious writing awards.

Asia's focus as a director is making character driven narratives and cross genre stories come to life. Her work is very visual, she pays a lot of attention to the aesthetics and tone. She’s heavily influenced by independent cinema. Asia’s documentary background shaped her attention to detail and her sensibility as a director.
